OMC

  1. What is the Women’s Ministries?

The Women’s Ministries is an organization of women, set apart as an arm of the Malawi Assemblies of God with a purpose to contribute towards the growth of the church. It exists at all levels of the MAoG structures namely local church, section, district, division and national church. Through the ministries women are called to serve in love hence called OMC (Otumikira MwaChikondi). Therefore our Motto is “Serving in Love.”

  1. OMC Vision

Our vision is to be a blessing wherever God places us. This is very prophetic and our prayer is that we will indeed raise up women in the Malawi Assemblies of God that can be a blessing, in all aspects of their lives, to their families, the church, and society at large and to the nation. We want the women to take advantage of every opportunity that God presents to us every day, to be the women He designed us to be.

  1. OMC Membership

The OMC membership is drawn from female church members who can be married, single, widowed or divorced, as long as they are willing to participate in this ministry. Young women are encouraged to join OMC to ensure continuity after the older generation moves on. This calls for creativity among older women in the way they operate the ministry if we are to attract or retain the young.

  1. Operations of OMC

Our scripture for operations is Ecclesiastes 9: 10 – “Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might. For in the grave where you are going there is neither working, nor planning, nor knowledge nor wisdom.” We encourage every woman to find something to do and determine to be serious and urgent in the way we carry out our vision for there is no time to waste.

  1. Prayer of OMC

Our prayer is Psalm 19:14 “May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Lord, my Rock and Redeemer.” Everyday a woman should be conscious of what she thinks about and what she speaks.
